Supply Chain Management (SCM) - a much hyped, much clichéd, much-used term, a business jargon that has now grown into an everyday reality, with a promise to deliver the El Dorado to all and sundry. Unfortunately, the promises have not really translated into hard cash. Concept after the concept has flooded the business landscape, only to make way for another equally grandiose and futile idea. In all these fanfare, we have lost track of something vitally important-a business common sense and have ended up in colonializing supply chain management. This article looks at providing a framework for supply chain management which encompasses all aspects of SCM and focuses on streamlining the approach.
