Ace Club along with the Marketing Placement Committee of N.L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research organized a guest session on “Marketing in Times of COVID”. It was our privilege to host Mr. Saurabh Bajaj, Marketing Head- Dairy at Britannia, who was our esteemed guest for this session.
Below are some of the points from the session which we feel were quite insightful:
1) We understood the fact that humanity takes at least 6 -9 months to adjust its natural self, and now we call it a new normal.
2) We dug into Nielsen’s report and realized the impacts across the sectors – like travel and tourism, hospitality, telecom, etc. and also impact on categories like pasta, chocolate, etc and understood U-shaped and V-shaped recovery.
3) How brands communicated at the time of Covid. During Pandemic, brands divided the consumer behavior according to the phases of the pandemic – BREACH, CRISIS, RESILIENCE, RENEWAL.
4) Moment Marketing became large and Social Listening became a buzz right now to know when to hit the hammer.
5) E-commerce, Digital Payment, Online Entertainment, Hyperlocal Services, Reassurance of Health and Hygiene became the 5 major marketing playbooks in recent times. It was indeed an enlightening session. We hope that this post gives a valuable gist of the concluded guest session.
