General FAQs PGDM – Business Analytics

Q1. What is the duration of this program?

PGDM is a two-year full-time program, comprising six trimesters (three semesters per year).

 

Q2. Is the course AICTE approved?

Yes, the course is AICTE approved and will commence in Sept 2022

 

Q3. Does the course offer opportunities for Internship, PPO and Placements?

This is a 2-year full-time program. After successful completion of the First Year, starting April through September; the Second Year, is full-time industry exposure worth 12 credits and part of 4th Trimester followed by in-campus 5th and 6th Trimesters. Project Management Committee will be mentoring and evaluating internship projects. Institute has a central placement team, and the students will be part of this process as well.

 

Q4. Will the faculty members be the same as the other PGDM courses of the institute?

Yes, some faculty for Marketing, Finance, and HR will be the same as modules are similar. Also, visiting faculties from relevant industries and institutes will be part of the program for specialized Business Analytics modules.

 

Q5. Do we need to know Python, R, Advance Excel etc?

Students are expected to be well-versed with Linear Algebra (Sets etc), Basic Calculus, Probability & Statistics Fundamentals. Programming languages and Data Structures will be taught but having prior knowledge is an added advantage. SQL, Excel, R & SAS/SPSS are an integral part of the curriculum. In the 2nd trimester, Advance Excel, SQL/R and Python are used extensively. In the 3rd trimester, the focus is on SAS/SPSS.

 

Q6. Is it advisable for freshers to join this course?

Some companies come to pick freshers only. Companies have their own preferences. (0-3 years). Freshers should look forward to having a diverse class.

 

Q7. Do we get to choose subjects like Marketing/Finance/HR with this as a minor degree?

No. The choice of electives in the second year will guide you towards the desired role.
