On Saturday, 14th December 2024, the Finance Forum of N.L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research hosted the Nivesh Bazaar 2024, an intra collegiate asset
trading event. Previously known as “Mock Bazaar,” this annual trading simulation is now in its third edition and has been curated by the Finance Forum Committee of NLDIMSR. The event offers students hands-on experience in financial trading and strategic decision-making within a simulated marketplace
The event kicked off with a warm welcome to all present at the event, setting the stage for an exciting journey. The host introduced the faculty members. The finance forum coordinators introduced the rules initiating the event with a mock training session. Each participant was allocated with a virtual deposit of Rs 5 million and Rs. 1 million as margin money. They were also provided newspapers to guide their investment decisions. Business and economic news was also telecasted on the computer screen. With seven phases of selecting the finalists, 11 teams qualified for the finals. They were accompanied by 11 brokers from the finance forum. The simulated environment consisted of 12 companies, 2 forex securities, 2 commodities and 3 bonds. The prices of these securities fluctuated on the basis of news in the market.
